Welcome to the Caldwell GIS Mapping Department Page. We are located on the second floor in the Engineering Department at 621 Cleveland Blvd. in Caldwell.
The mission of the GIS Mapping Department is to develop and maintain a Geographic Information System (GIS). GIS and Mapping provide a computerized link between geographic features, such as fire hydrants, and their corresponding feature specific data, such as the manufacturer, year installed, and the date of last maintenance. With this type of an informational database, City departments can more effectively operate on a daily basis and plan for the future.
The GIS Mapping Department provides maps of the City of Caldwell that currently include the City Limit and Impact Area boundaries, as well as, zoning maps for the Planning & Zoning Department. We also provide City infrastructure maps and support to various City departments and provide site specific information on City services to the general public.
GIS Mapping has three full time employees consisting of a Mapping Superintendent/GIS Coordinator and two Mapping Analysts. We are currently busy mapping the City's entire service infrastructure including the sewer, water, and storm drain systems. Once this work is completed, our goal is to provide opportunities for enhanced information sharing between City departments, outside agencies, and the general public.
The GIS Mapping Department hours of business are 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday thru Friday.
